LEARN FROM THE GREAT
Saturday, October 25, 2025, MIT will host a very special workshop dedicated to string puppets, given by one of the great masters of this art: Jordi Bertran.
Hours: 11:00 to 14:00 and from 15:00 to 18:00.
With more than forty years of experience, Jordi Bertran is one of the most recognized puppeteers internationally. His company has taken the shows around the world, always with an innovative and poetic look that combines impeccable technique and artistic sensitivity. His name is today synonymous with excellence and creativity in the world of puppetry.
This workshop is a unique opportunity to learn directly from a master and discover the secrets of string puppet manipulation. An experience designed for both performing arts professionals and people interested in delving into this theatrical language.

On Saturday and Sunday, November 22 and 23, 2025, MIT offers a workshop dedicated to muppet manipulation, taught by Manuel Román, creator of the characters from the famous children's program The Lunnis.
A completely practical workshop where we will study the basic principles of working with puppets in front of the camera, but which are applicable to theater.
We will study:
– The Dissociation
-The impulse. Conviction and concentration of the Manipulator.
– The Scout.
– Actions and reactions
– Character construction: Gesture palette
– Creation of an action sequence. Memorization. Score
Hours: 10:30 to 13:30 and from 14:30 to 17:30.
Manuel Román is a renowned designer and puppeteer with an extensive career in television and shows.His creativity and experience have made him a key figure in the evolution of contemporary puppetry in Spain. His work combines technique, imagination and a great ability to connect with family audiences.
This workshop is a unique opportunity to learn first-hand the techniques of creating and manipulating muppets, discovering the secrets behind characters that have captivated generations.

Saturday, December 15, 2025, the MIT will host a workshop dedicated to the Catalan glove puppet, taught by Eudald Ferré.
Hours: 11:00–14:00 and 15:00–18:00.
The Catalan glove puppet is one of the oldest and most emblematic forms of our performing heritage.It is characterized by being manipulated directly with the hand inside the puppet, in a technique unique in the world. His popular and often irreverent characters give life to stories full of humor, social criticism and spontaneity.
Eudald Ferré, puppeteer, actor, director and puppet teacher at the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona, is one of the most prominent figures in the preservation and renewal of this tradition. His career combines historical research, contemporary creation and teaching, transmitting the passion for puppetry to new generations of artists.
This workshop is a unique opportunity to discover up close the essence of the Catalan glove puppet.

Objectiu del Taller
Descobrir tècniques per narrar contes de manera atractiva i conèixer recursos que enriqueixen la història i connecten amb el públic.
Introducció: diferència entre llegir i narrar; el vincle emocional amb l’audiència.
Estratègies: ús de la veu, gestos, mirada i estructura del relat.
Recursos de suport: objectes, titelles, música, sons, llum i moviment corporal.
Pràctica: exercicis de narració, improvisació i creació de contes amb suport d’objectes o titelles.
Conclusions: síntesi de tècniques, consells pràctics i recomanacions per continuar explorant l’art d’explicar contes.
